Important notice on sealing this compostable mailing bag

The compostable nature of this mailing bag means that its integral sealing strip is only semi-permanent on initial contact sealing. For a permanent seal, please seal the bag and leave it at room temperature for several hours before posting.

C5 compostable clear mailing bag - product features

• Eco-friendly clear mailing bag that can be composted after use.
• Small C5 bag - ideal for sending contents up to A5 size via mail or courier.
• Clear compostable material has a slight frosted look compared to traditional clear polythene.
• Minimum renewable content share of 30%.
• 100% compostable and biodegradable.
• Disintegrates in 12 weeks and biodegrades in six months in industrial composting, in line with compostable standard EN13432 (details below).
• Can be home composted, but this process will take much longer (timescale will vary according to composting conditions).
• Fold-down flap features printed 'COMPOSTABLE' leaf logo, disposal instructions, suffocation warning notice and sender address box.

Compostable packaging and the EN13432 standard

This compostable product meets the European packaging standard EN13432, which means it will demonstrate the following criteria in industrial composting conditions:

• Disintegration - 12 weeks after disposal, at least 90% of material will have disintegrated into pieces smaller than 2mm x 2mm.
• Biodegradation - Six months after disposal, at least 90% of material will have biodegraded into CO2, water and biomass.
• Ecotoxicity - Must meet strict safety limits for toxic elements, including heavy metals and fluoride.
• Composting process - there must be an absence of negative effects on this process.
• Compost quality - the final compost must not be affected negatively by the introduction of the compostable material.

Clear compostable mailing bags - storage instructions

As with all compostable products, these mailing bags should be stored in their original packaging in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and sources of heat, humidity and moisture. Use within 12 months.

Clear compostable mailing bags - disposal instructions

These bags are designed to biodegrade in industrial composting conditions (see EN13432, above), so please dispose of them in your food waste bin.

They can also be composted at home, but this process will take longer (timescale will vary according to composting conditions).

If neither composting option is available, please dispose of in your regular domestic waste. Not suitable for recycling.
