EN13432 industrial composting standard

This bin liner meets EN13432 - the European industrial composting standard.

This means that 90% of the bag must disintegrate into tiny pieces - max 2mm x 2mm - within 12 weeks of disposal, whilst 90% of it must biodegrade into CO2, water and biomass within six months.

The material must also produce no negative effects on compost quality, whilst meeting strict upper limits for toxic elements, including fluoride and 10 heavy metals.

Please store these compostable bags in a cool, dry place and in their original packaging to best maintain product quality. Keep away from sunlight and sources of heat or moisture and use within 12 months.

Strong clear compostable pedal bin liner - disposal options

These compostable pedal bin liners should be disposed of in your food waste collection bin as they are designed to completely break down in industrial composting units (as per EN13432).

The liners can also be disposed of in a home composter, but this process could take much longer and will not meet the rapid biodegradation timescales of EN13432 (actual time will vary according to composting conditions).

This bag is not suitable for recycling so, if composting is not available, please throw it in your regular domestic waste.
