Important note - Sealing this compostable mailing bag
This mailing bag's peel n' seal adhesive strip is only semi-permanent on initial contact sealing, due to the compostable nature of the material. For a permanent seal, we recommend leaving the sealed mailing bag at room temperature for several hours once sealed.
Extra-large compostable mailing bag features
- Send large items via mail or courier whilst keeping one eye on the environment.
- Features a minimum 30% renewable content share.
- 100% compostable and biodegradable product.
- EN13432 compliant - will disintegrate (12 weeks) and then biodegrade (6 months) in industrial compost units.
- Also suitable for domestic composting, though timescale will vary with local conditions (will take longer).
- Green leaf motif and eco-friendly messages - 'COMPOSTABLE for a better world...' and 'Material conforms to EN 13432' - printed on the back (sealing side) of the bag.
- Also features sender address box and safety warning notice printed on sealing flap.

EN13432 - industrial composting standards
This product meets the following testing criteria, in line with industrial composting standard EN13432:
- Disintegration - At least 90% of composted material must fit through a 2mm x 2mm sieve after 12 weeks
- Biodegradability - At least 90% of composted material must biodegrade within six months (CO2 output level at 90% of control sample)
- Ecotoxicity - The composted material must meet strict limits for a range of toxic elements, including mercury, lead and zinc
- Compost quality - This must not be adversely affected by the addition of the compostable material
Storing compostable mailing bags
Store bags away from heat, humidity and direct sunlight and use within 12 months of delivery.
Disposing of compostable mailing bags
Compostable mailing bags should be disposed of in food waste collection bins (where they end up in industrial composting) or in a domestic compost heap (composting process will take longer). They are not suitable for recycling so, if composting is not available, please throw in your regular rubbish bin.
