When you first this compostable mailing bag, the peel n' seal strip will provide only a semi-permanent seal, due to the compostable properties of the material. For a permanent seal, we recommend leaving the bag at room temperature for several hours before posting.

Compostable packaging standard EN13432

This mailing bag is compostable, according to the European standard EN13432 (industrial composting). This means that:

• After 12 weeks, 90% of the material will break down enough to pass through a 2x2mm mesh
• Within six months, at least 90% of the material will biodegrade into CO2, water and minerals
• The material does not exceed strict content limits for volatile matter, fluorine and 10 heavy metals, including lead, copper and mercury
• The material passes ecotoxicity tests and does affect the quality of any compost to which it is added

Compostable mailers - storage instructions

To maximise shelf life, please store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture, and use within 12 months.

Green compostable mailers - how to dispose

After use, please disposed of this bag - with suitable contents - in your food waste collection bin or domestic composting unit. If neither is possible, please place in your regular domestic waste. Not suitable for recycling.
