These biodegradable bin liners should be stored in a cool, dry, dark place, and in their original packaging, to best preserve their shelf-life (12 months from date of manufacture).
The bio-additive used to accelerate the degradation process can be triggered by prolonged exposure to sunlight or heat, so please avoid these to best preserve shelf life.
This bin liner is not suitable for industrial composting, so please do not throw it into your food waste collection bin. It may be suitable for home composting if the conditions are suitable - presence of oxygen, heat, light, mechanical stress and microorganisms - but timescales will vary and the process could take a number of years.
If you are looking for bin liners that are designed for composting with food or garden waste, see our range of compostable waste bags instead.
If the contents of the bin liner are disposed of separately, the bag itself can be recycled, provided it has not yet started to degrade.
As a last resort, the bin liner and its contents can be disposed in your regular waste collection, as it is designed to degrade more rapidly in landfill than traditional polythene bags.
