Compostable standard EN13432 - criteria

This bag conforms to testing criteria for standard EN13432:

Disintegration - after 12 weeks, at least 90% of the composted material must pass through a 2x2mm mesh.
Biodegradability - a minimum 90% of material must biodegrade (into carbon dioxide, water and biomass) within six months.
Compost quality - the material must not affect the quality of the compost produced and demonstrate safe levels of toxic elements (including fluoride and 10 heavy metals).

Compostable vest carriers storage instructions

To maintain product quality, please store these vest carrier bags in a cool, dry place in their original packaging, away from sources of heat or direct sunlight. Use within 12 months.

How to dispose of compostable carriers - end of life options

These vest carriers have a dual purpose. After being used as a shopping bag they can also be used to collect organic waste in a food bin or kitchen caddy. Once full, these bags can then be disposed of, with their contents, in your food waste collection.

These bags are designed to disintegrate in industrial composting conditions within 12 weeks. They are also suitable for home composting, although timescales will vary (depending on disposal conditions) and will probably take longer than 12 weeks. Not suitable for regular (non-organic) recycling.
