As the name suggests, the Plastic Packaging Tax (PPT) is a tax that only applies to plastic products - i.e. products that are predominantly plastic by weight - that do not contain at least 30% recycled plastic.
Products made from paper and other materials are always exempt from the PPT.

So keep an eye out for the 'PPT Exempt' icon as you shop. We also apply the icon to all products that are PPT exempt due to the level of recycled content in the product.
Please note that any product containing less than 30% recycled content has the PPT prepaid by Polybags, so that you don't have to.
